Last updated: 3 August 2026

The Vault (“we”, “the game”) is a free daily puzzle game available at vault.day. This policy explains what data we handle and why. We keep it minimal on purpose: there are no user accounts and we do not ask for your name, email, or any personal details to play.

Data stored on your device

Your progress — streak, statistics, collected treasures, language, and sound and consent preferences — is stored only in your browser’s local storage on the device you play on. It never leaves your device, we cannot see it, and clearing your browser data erases it. A random device identifier is generated locally to keep your own stats consistent; it is not linked to your identity and is not sent to us.

Analytics

We use analytics to understand aggregate usage (for example, how many people play or share). This may include Google Analytics, which sets cookies and processes usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type. Google Analytics data is handled under Google’s privacy terms. We may also use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics that do not track individuals.

Advertising

On the results screen we may show ads served by Google AdSense. Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this and/or other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Ads Settings.

Ads are served by Google together with a set of third-party advertising partners. The full, current list of those partners — and a per-purpose breakdown of what each one does — is shown inside the consent dialog itself, under “Manage options”, and can be reopened at any time via “Cookie choices” in the footer.

Your choices & consent

If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, we ask for your consent on your first visit using Google’s certified consent management platform, which records your choice per purpose and per vendor. Until you answer, advertising and analytics storage stay switched off, so no advertising or analytics cookies are written. You can reopen the dialog and change or withdraw your consent at any time via “Cookie choices” in the footer.

Elsewhere, where consent is not legally required up front, you can still opt out of personalized ads through the Google and industry opt-out links above. In every region you can clear all locally-stored data by clearing your browser storage for this site.

Your rights & data retention

Because we hold no accounts and no personal data on our servers, most data-protection rights are self-service: the progress and preferences on your device can be inspected in your browser’s storage and erased at any time by clearing that storage. If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you also have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data relating to you, and to object to or withdraw consent for processing. To exercise any of these, email us at tsuter5@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.

We do not retain personal data ourselves: on-device data persists until you clear it, and we keep no server-side copy. Data processed by Google Analytics and Google AdSense is retained and handled under Google’s own terms and retention settings, not ours.

Children

The game is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes & contact

We may update this policy as the game evolves; the date above reflects the latest version. For any privacy question, contact us at tsuter5@gmail.com.
