Terms of use
← Back to the vaultLast updated: 26 July 2026
These terms apply to vault.day (“The Vault”, “we”). Playing the game means you accept them. They are deliberately short, because the service is deliberately small: a free daily puzzle with no accounts and nothing to buy.
Using the game
The Vault is free for personal enjoyment. You may play it, screenshot it, and share your results — the share button exists precisely for that, and the text it produces is spoiler-free by design. You may not resell access, present the game as your own, or run automated agents against it. The guess endpoint is rate-limited and scripted solving will be blocked.
Puzzles and content
The daily codes, sequences, treasure names and the stories attached to them are original editorial work and remain ours. You are welcome to quote a past answer or a treasure fact with a link back to the relevant page. Republishing the archive wholesale, or scraping it to power another site, is not permitted. Emoji glyphs themselves are Unicode characters and are nobody's property.
Spoilers and fairness
Solutions are published only after a vault has closed in every timezone. Please extend the same courtesy: posting a live day's answer where other players will see it ruins the one thing a daily game has. If you think a puzzle had two valid answers, tell us rather than the internet — see contact.
Your progress
Your streak, statistics and collection live in your browser's local storage on your own device. We keep no server-side copy, which means we cannot restore, transfer or recover them under any circumstances — including a cleared cache, a new phone, or a browser in private mode. Treat your museum as something that lives on that device only.
Availability and changes
The game is provided as-is, with no guarantee of uptime, and no promise that a vault will open every single day forever. We may change the rules, the keyboard size, the difficulty or these terms as the game develops; material changes will be reflected in the date at the top of this page. Past vaults are never rewritten once they have been played.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from use of the game — including lost progress or lost streaks. Nothing here limits rights you have under mandatory consumer or data-protection law in your country.
Advertising and data
Ads may be shown on the results screen, and analytics and advertising scripts load only after you make a choice in the cookie banner. What is collected, by whom, and how to change your mind is set out in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
